Lot’s of people cower in fear when it comes to the Windows registry.  The complicated filing system is like Greek to anyone who isn’t versed in a lot of training and practice.  Most people don’t even know what the registry is.  Basically it’s a collection of files and folders that store important information that Windows uses in order to run all your applications and hardware.  It keeps settings stored like which programs open which files, and who has what preferenes.
