April 16th, 2011 . by admin

My brother is currently self-employed and running his own business. He told me that he has had a difficult time finding insurance for self employed in NY. I told my brother that he may want to refer to the Internet and look for local New York providers. It is my hope that my brother will find adequate coverage soon to ensure that he is covered in case of an accident. My brother is also searching for a policy that may cover his employees.

We Needed Hospitalization

October 17th, 2010 . by admin

It was pretty scary being without any health insurance during the early days of starting our own business. I kept worrying about one of us getting sick and requiring hospitalization. What would we do then? I felt like we were walking a tightrope without a safety net. Would a serious illness bankrupt us or cause us to lose our home? We shopped around for Cheap health insurance. Since the prospect of catastrophic illness was foremost in my mind, that was the type of health insurance policy we got. Having a basic hospitalization plan took a big weight off my mind and allowed me to give my full attention to our new venture.

I May Have Found It

October 7th, 2010 . by admin

I have been doing a little bit of research online and I think that I may have found what I am looking for. I have been searching to see if I can find Affordable health insurance anywhere. My family does not have insurance because my husband owns his business and our daughter and I are his staff. My husband really enjoys running his own business, he does not like to have to answer to anyone. He is a lot happier working for himself than he ever was when he worked for a big company and had an office and set hours.

Make Your Own Business Card – A Few Tips to Remember

May 28th, 2010 . by admin

If you want to make your own business card, always remember that everything you do should fit what your business is all about. Even though you have complete control over the design process, it doesn’t mean that you can just put anything on your business card. Everything should be appropriate. For example, lawyers and accountant business cards don’t have to look vivid and colorful; photographer business cards should show art and creativity, as your business cards will reflect on your professionalism. Making your own business card is really easy and it very cheap, since you don’t have to pay for the professional fee of a graphic designer.

Going With Their Recommendation

April 6th, 2010 . by admin

I own my own business here in town and have been toying with the idea of starting a website in order to reach more potential customers.  I don’t really know a lot about running a website but I am an expert in my field.  I have talked to a few other people I know that have their own unrelated business websites and they all recommend that I use a really good web seo software.  Apparently this will help me quite a bit with the page ranking for my site and will enable me to funnel a lot of traffic to the site.

Help with Tax Compliance

March 2nd, 2010 . by admin

I had just started my own business about a year ago and I was used to having someone else handle my sales taxes. When I got notification and harassing calls from the State Board of Equalization letting me know that my audit was coming up, I got really scared. I had heard of Associated Sales Tax Consultants and had seen the good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I was very relieved and happy with their service. They were able to make sure that I was in Sales Tax Compliance. I learned a lot and I was definitely be recommending them to other business owners.

Have You Considered Interior Design as a Career?

February 23rd, 2010 . by admin

You are almost finished with high school and the counselor is meeting with you to talk about your future. Your friends and family are always asking what you want to be when you grow up. Have you considered interior design as a career? There are many opportunities in this field to choose from. There are speciality designers that have a certain niche, like kitchen design or commercial design. Some designers do a little of everything but only work on residential property. Designers can have their own business or be an employee, perhaps at a furniture store. A college degree is required and design courses, followed by an apprenticeship. Last but not least, you will be required to pass the tests to apply for a license in your state.

One of the ways to get health insurance

February 22nd, 2010 . by admin

Do you own your own business, or freelance?  Are you working part-time and, therefore, not eligible for benefits?  Health insurance is extremely important as healthcare costs are going through the roof.  One of the ways to get health insurance is to join a trade association or some kind of formal group that provides health insurance for it’s members.  The American Automobile Association  (AAA) offers short term medical insurance for between 30 – 185 days which is cheaper than COBRA.  This is a good way to keep yourself insured without breaking the bank (crucial at a time when saving every penny counts).  They also offer permanent insurance for college students (up to age 63).  This is great for students who can’t go on their parent’s plan as dependents, diy guide or are international students, and can be a cheaper alternative to the college health insurance plans.   eHealth Insurance offers quotes for comparison for people seeking insurance for themselves and their families.  It allows you the flexibility to determine your deductible, compare coinsurance rates and see what your monthly payments will be.  Healthinsurance.org offers you the same options as well as links to websites that offer risk pools (insurance for people who cannot get insurance because of their medical/pre-existing conditions, or a change in their circumstances that makes them ineligible for benefits).

Makes Me Smile

January 29th, 2010 . by admin

The world is changing at a very fast and unbelievably fast rate. It really does just blow my mind how it has been changing. I do not know whether to say it was for the worst or for the best. I have started my own business to help bring income. I have Call Tracking that really improves how my business has been up and running. I have made so many mistakes without using it. I am sure glad I use it now. I have been getting a lot more clients and it shows to improve my new income quite well and that makes me happy.

Getting some business coaching

January 17th, 2010 . by admin

I couldn’t imagine trying to open up your own business without getting some business coaching first, especially, if you haven’t gone to school in management or billing or any business classes. Opening a new restaurant or shop can be a very daunting experience without the right knowledge and people to help you along. I’d think that most business that has gone without most of this knowledge would probably close down before it really got a chance to flex its muscles. I would never advice someone to take on all that responsibility without consulting someone before they try opening up shop.

The Beginning of a Successful Business

January 1st, 2010 . by admin

When my wife and I decided to look into starting our own business we were not at all sure where to start.  We thought about starting something from scratch and doing something we both knew how to do.  Other people we talked to strongly suggested we look into the many franchise opportunities that were available to get on with.  After much research and discussion we chose one that we could both agree on.  Our opening day was so much better than we had anticipated and we both look forward to this being the beginning of a highly successful venture for us.
