The Fund Raiser Was a Success

We held our fund raiser last night and it was a huge success! We did even better than we had hoped that we would. I think that a big part of the success of the event was the food, good food always puts people into a good mood. I really love the caterer that we used, they really understand non profit events Orange County. I received so many compliments about the food that I lost count! I am glad that we held this fund raiser, the money is really going to help the organization that I run, which will help a lot of people.

My Brother Commented On My Modern Living Room

Last week we had a BBQ at my house and my brother and his wife and their children all came over and we had some good food. After we ate, we all came in the house and sat down to chat. Upon sitting down, my brother commented on our modern living room. He said that he liked it and wanted to know where we got some of the stuff we had in it. We told him that we had purchased most of it online at a really cool store. We would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a great place to buy modern stuff.

I was at work the other night, when my boss called me in and told me that he wanted my help with something.  I asked him what it was, and he told me that he had recently been told by the doctor that he was getting overweight, so he wanted to go on a diet.  He asked me if I had any suggestions of diets that he should try.  I told him that I started the paleo diet a while back, and I have never felt better.  I am always conscious of what I eat, and I only eat good food

Tofu

We went to “House of Tofu Soup” Korean food the other day for lunch. We’ve been there before, but it was a while ago. They’re located in Burnaby (border of Coquitlam) near Lougheed Mall (North Road & Lougheed Hwy). They have really good food and I wanted to try it again. We used to go there for dinner and this is the first time we ate there for lunch.The restaurant menu consists of tofu soup, bibimbab, bulgogi BBQ stuff, Korean seafood pancake, and other stuff. I ordered the pork tofu soup and the my wife ordered the mushroom tofu soup for 10 bucks each. You also get to choose spicy, medium, mild, or white. Mild was still a bit spicy for me so next time I’ll just order white and add the kimchi in it. And our little Brandon is still taking his baby food. After dinner me and my wife had a fresh cup of coffee where the beans were freshly roasted on the coffee shop’s alpenrost coffee Roaster.

thanksgiving memories

I love the foods from the fall holidays. And I love planning the meals and decorating the table and setting the table and most of all, I love the Thanksgiving foods most of all. I guess part of it is due to the memories of my childhood, of gatherings and family and good food. Is that why it was destined that I embrace cooking as my passion, my love, my profession? How many of us remember Thanksgiving meals of Green Bean Casseroles? And my mother used to make the best almond, sausage, onions and rice dressing; she always had to double the recipe so that we would have plenty for dinner and for days of leftovers. We always had at least 3 kinds of pies, in addition to whatever other pies and cakes and cookies the relatives brought.
