Save Money By Making Your Own Cornhole Bags
November 29th, 2008 . by adminEverywhere you look, it seems like everyone is playing the cornhole game. Whether you head to a BBQ or a tailgate, all you see are bags of corn flying through the air at wooden boards. If you haven’t played or seen the game, then chances are you don’t live in the midwest. The game was either invented in Ohio or Chicago and has become a staple of backyard fun. But in this uncertain economy, why not save a bit of money if you can.
Making your own set of cornhole bags is rather simple and I’ll layout the steps here.
1) Go to the local fabric store and buy 10 ounce duck canvas.
2) Cut the canvas to 7×14″.
3) Fold over the side to make it 7×7″ (one side done, no sewing!).
4) Sew 2 sides as close to the edge as possible.
5) Flip bags inside out and fill with 14 ounces of corn.
6) Sew remaining side.
7) Go outside and throw the bag around…repeat 7 more times!
There you have it. You just saved yourself about $15 on the product and another $10 in shipping. These are great Christmas gifts as well!
