With the advent of wireless internet access, wireless security became a major issue that needed to be dealt with seriously.  Most sites offering access, especially those who have it free of charge, will not be secure.  You do not want to be visiting your bank or giving out credit card information while you are online using any wireless access.  It’s just not safe.  You should have security installed on your computer in the form of a firewall,  add some virus protection, and keep it up to date.

You just never know who might be sitting nearby or even out in the parking lot, copying your info and using it with criminal intentions, such as identity theft.  Theft of information on the internet is a huge problem today.
