You are almost finished with high school and the counselor is meeting with you to talk about your future. Your friends and family are always asking what you want to be when you grow up. Have you considered interior design as a career? There are many opportunities in this field to choose from. There are speciality designers that have a certain niche, like kitchen design or commercial design. Some designers do a little of everything but only work on residential property. Designers can have their own business or be an employee, perhaps at a furniture store. A college degree is required and design courses, followed by an apprenticeship. Last but not least, you will be required to pass the tests to apply for a license in your state.
