June 27th, 2010 . by adminAdam Jones hit a two-run homer to Kevin Millwood gave his first win of the year and the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 on Saturday imposed a San Diego Padres .
Millwood (1-8 ) had lost eight in a row, the longest losing streak of his career.
Alfredo Simon had to wade through problems in the ninth to earn the save , his seventh in eight tries. Simon led off with a walk to Jerry Hairston Jr. and Tony Gwyn Jr. gave him a double. The Dominican was put on full count before Oscar Salazar then hit a grounder that drove Hairston . But David Eckstein dominated with a grounder to shortstop and struck out Chase Headley .
Millwood allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings , striking out five and giving two bases.
