There have been Seminaries for the training of clergy
July 5th, 2009 . by adminThe organization of modernized seminary foundations was a straight result of Roman Catholic reforms of the Counter-Reformation after the Council of Trent which asserted on the betterment of the teaching of clergy through the introduction of Seminaries as live-in institutions under the special control of senior clergy. Since at least the fourth century there have been Seminaries for the training of clergy. The first recognized group of seminary degree was assembled by St. Basil of Ancyra. The usage dropped out of common use in the Middle Period, when almost all spiritual education was in religious residencies, and after, in the universities.
