If you are in a city as a tourist at some point you will want to have a nice meal. But where to go? That is always the biggest question. Most often you haven’t been in the city before and generally the cities are filled with restaurants that are mainly there for tourists and offer over-priced and below-standard food. If you want to have a really nice dinner or lunch and enjoy good food in a city that you have never been to a good advice from me would be to do some internet research and find some insider tips.

Lately I had to travel to Philadelphia because of my job. I had an appointment in the afternoon but only flew back the next morning. So I knew that I would have to find a nice restaurant for the evening and did some online research about dining in Philadelphia beforehand.

I found some pretty good restaurant guides, but also information in private blogs that helped me a lot. I really wanted to try some of the classical south Philadelphia food and I succeeded. Finally I ended up at Zanzibar Blue, a classy jazz venue that also had really good food. Being a Jazz lover this was the perfect choice for me.

Anyway, if you don’t want to end up in one of those touristy but expensive places I recommend you to do some research, so that you can enjoy some nice meals during your vacation!
