The U. S. Department of Health and Human Services provides Nursing Scholarships to attempt to maintain and even increase the number of well qualified nurses in this country. Part of the qualification for Nursing Scholarships from them include being a U.S. Citizen and either enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a nursing degree program. Participants who sign “Full-Time Student” Contracts incur 1 year of full-time obligated service for each full or partial academic year of support received, with a minimum 2-year full-time service obligation. I think anyone getting a Nursing Scholarship would consider that a small price to pay for the help in establishing a lifetime career.
