Table connotes any type of table used beside the couch, at the corner of the wall or in the center of the living room. This could mean they can be added to accent home décor and goes beyond function. When we talk about desks, we mean those that are used in offices. They are more of function rather than accent. Table lamps and desk lamps are good additions in any home or office.
