When I was growing up, my mother spent hours at the kitchen table every week clipping coupons. She subscribed to every newspaper in our small town just for that purpose, and she had an entire drawer full of offers. I don’t think she actually saved any money, though, because she usually ended up buying things just because they were on sale. Some of the things she bought, we didn’t even need. She figured someone would be able to use them. But that was before the days of the online coupon code. Now she goes searching for coupons that she actually needs, and she spends a lot less money.
