At BCBSNC of Raleigh, they realize how important your health is.  After all, if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.  This is why BCBSNC is encouraging people to get health insurance.  It may be difficult to realize, but there are a lot of people out there in the United States who don’t have health insurance BY CHOICE!  There is no worse decision that you could make than to not have health insurance.  You never know what could happen that would require you or a loved one to require hospital care or prescription medication.  For example, two years ago, my mother wasn’t feeling well.  She wasn’t herself and we brought her to the doctor.  She ended up needing to be hospitalized because she had a 104 degree temperature.  As it turned out she needed emergency surgery to remove fibroids that had caused internal infection.  Had she not had the surgery, she would’ve died.  And had she not had health insurance, she and my father would’ve been responsible for a $385,000 bill!
