Cause of infertility in young men

November 30th, 2008 . by admin

More young men requires infertiliy specialist treatment. A study released by the Society for Men’s Health Singapore showed that about 20 per cent of local men aged 45 years and above, and 43 per cent of those above 70, are affected by hypogonadism or testosterone deficiency. Symptoms of the disease include osteoporosis, as well as feelings of lethargy, depression and irritability. Hypogonadism is linked to other problems as well. Those suffering from problems such as erectile dysfunctioning, high cholesterol, hypertension or diabetes may develop hypogonadism, and vice versa. Medicine often taken to boost flagging libidos – provides only a temporary fix. The effects wear off quickly, and the pill is useless in treating the other symptoms, such as lethargy and depression. Hormone replacement therapy is required to treat the problem properly according to an infertility specialist doctor.
