Avoid Too Much Acidic Foods For Healthier Teeth

August 9th, 2009 . by admin

There are a lot of ways to whiten your teeth. You can go to the professional, use commercial teeth whitening products, or simply get the job done in your home using the traditional methods.  Well, there may really be lot of home teeth whitening methods but not all are helpful to keep our teeth healthy. You can conserve your teeth in other ways as well if you know that, besides tooth decay and gum disease, teeth can be destroyed by frequent consumption of acidic foods, such as citrus foods and sour preserved foods.

The acids dissolve and erode the enamel. Acid from gastric juice regurgitated from frequent vomiting can cause extensive erosion of teeth of people who suffer from alcohol dependency. Habitual grinding of teeth or clenching causes attrition or wearing down of the biting surfaces of teeth. Teeth can be fractured accidentally by chewing bone, cracking crab shells, and crunching hard nuts.

grapefruits are known to help aid weight loss. But in general stay away from foods that bloat you. cucumbers are great for shedding excess water weight. also apples are a dieters friend.
