Artichokes – Lowers Your Cholesterol Naturally

Artichoke leaves carry an extract in it that has been a proven natural cholesterol lowering agent. It limits the synthesis of cholesterol maintained in the body. Artichokes have also been known to carry a special compound called cynarin which helps the liver to increase bile production, thus increasing cholesterol excretions. Studies and researchers have found that taking a natural artichoke supplement every day for six weeks showed dramatic results in cholesterol readings. Levels that were once extremely high were drastically lower after a trial run of artichoke supplements. Eating artichokes in their natural state (steamed or boiled) is the only way to eat them at their purest. Dunking them in melted butter would defeat the whole purpose.
