When my husband lost his job and was unable to find a new one right away, we started to collect a significant amount of debt, simply because we were unable to make our payments. However, my husband finally got a job, and as soon as he started making money we decided to set up a Chase Saunders IVA. We did this because many of our creditors had not been paid for nearly six months, and we wanted to avoid bankruptcy proceedings. Of course, we also wanted to show our creditors that while we hadn’t been making payments, we had every intention of doing so from that point on.
