September 1st, 2010 . by admin

Trend of malware infections in corporate network has been a long story. Research says almost 100% enterprise companies have malwares present in their system and 56% of them are data stealing. Since such information stealing malwares do not leave traces of event, hardly 50% could find the source of infection. These malwares have special characteristics of hiding in web traffic and are stealthier in term of traffic and resource use. Only 40% of those malware infections could be cured. In a nut shell, your enterprise security is no more trustworthy because of such fatal web threats. Few data–stealing malwares are Bancos, Gator, LegMir, Qhost etc. There are some vulnerable data stealing malware incidents coined to get an idea how fatal these can be for your proven business solutions. In 20066-2007 the firms like BJ’s whole sale club, TJX, Office max, Barnes & Noble, Boston Market were targeted where malware was used to steal and sell more than 170 million credit card numbers. From Monster Worldwide Inc’ job search service 1.6 million records of millions of people were stolen by a Trojan horse program. Some content security threats that fall into data-stealing malware category include keyloggers, back doors, adware, bots, spyware, screen scrapers etc. Enterprise business is thus prone to severe attacks from multi sources and need integrated security facilities like web security, end point security and messaging security. Any type of web security solutions should be smart, broader, faster, dynamic, real-time and cost-effective. So you need an integrated antivirus solution at the entry gate of your network system with a combination of malware protection, web reputation and URL filtering at a single place. End points like desktop, laptops, servers, smart phones; storage devices need to be protected with instant real-time threat intelligence. Messaging protection includes email, IM and collaboration system. Security means at both gateway e-mail and communication server. Some basic expertise like bi-directional content filtering, archiving, encryption and flexible operational options is necessary for cost effective risk management. On the whole enterprise business is very sensitive if not endowed with sophisticated end to end protection and low cost management.

    The short answer is yes.

A malware is just an application running on your computer so it has access to see what you are typing on your keyboard.

This has to be the saddest but best song ever. My 18 year old nephew killed himself last Nov. and the wierd thing was that I heard this song for the first time, on the radio and on the drive home from his funeral. It still makes me cry everytime I hear it! But it’s exactly what we were all wondering……..WHY?????
