October 16th, 2010 . by adminThe television executive director is responsible for motivating, teaching, and mentoring a diverse newsroom assisting the main director. The television executive director must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. He is responsible for day-to-day operations of television newsroom, television channels and website content, budgeting and hiring of media staff and maintenance of legal standards. The television executive director directs and coordinates activities of all the departments of the television network. He confers with executives and production staff members regarding budget, station policy, program coverage of special events, and production problems. The television executive director originates or approves news feature ideas and sends ideas to personnel of assignment department for implementation. He also monitors news development and reviews edited copy and news film. The television executive director is also responsible for approving program content or issues directions for changes or modification. A minimum five years experience is needed in the potential candidate for being a television executive director. The qualified candidate must have achieved a baccalaureate of higher degree in journalism or related field or equivalent related experience.
