I don’t know that much about the history and background of my family. In fact, I don’t even know who got here to the United States, how they got here, and when. This is why I’m taking on the task of tracing my family tree. Using a birth record search, I can find a number of distant relatives that I never even new existed prior to this moment. It’s so exciting. The process probably seems suspicious, but in reality it is not. All the information found and presented to me is obtained legally through a number of searches for information that’s open to the public. Hopefully, using these records, death records, marriage certificates, etc. will allow us to determine our true family tree.
