Hearing an Irish drum

March 15th, 2008 . by admin

The Irish drum is one of the prime members of the world’s drums and was utilized in the early stage of the 15th century. And unlike what people may think in general, bodhrans are not an easy instrument to master. An Irish folklore suggests that because the ladies in Ireland danced in the kitchen they took on the habit of dancing with arms held close to their sides in order to allow enough room to move around the small space. Some music shops are now drum specialists located in the north-east of Ireland and specialise in new and secondhand drum kits.
